Wednesday: textures you may have missed

I used to have a friend who described a certain sort of awkward social situation by holding one palm upwards, stroking her other hand about an inch above it, and saying simply, “textures.”

Cedar shingles Dulwich open house 2013

It’s not those sort of textures that have concerned us this week however. It’s more these beautiful wood shingles cladding an east London home, rough and ready ceramics in Dulwich, and a selection of deliciously scratchy wool blankets from Norway. Where can you experience these textures in full (with no social awkwardness I promise)? Why our new Facebook page. x

Great post and I love your blog! I shall definitely like My Best Friends House on Facebook. I love the wooden cladding, and I really like the stool the cushions are on… very interesting shape. If you are ever passing Barnes, London pop in to my shop The Perching Post http://www.theperchingpost.co.uk we have lots of unusual pieces of furniture.
