Want to know what Mary Portas sees when she closes her eyes? I’ve just spent ages lethargically looking through a Flickr group called UKClosed, made up entirely of pictures of empty shops. It’s hypnotic, depressing and beautiful in a Barnsley-after-the-apocalypse kind of way. And the strange thing is how each one gives you a jolt of recognition, as though it’s just at the end of your road.
