Tickle me pink: new Farrow & Ball colours
Pity the poor man of the house, for Farrow & Ball have a new pink paint out.
The above shows the new Nancy’s Blushes, with Arsenic (the green), on a background of Dimpse (also new). This is relevant not only because I’m a pink pervert, with an uncontrollable lust for anything in this colour, but also because I have a house to decorate.
Here it is. The floor is Frigate, by Leyland Trade. And the wall paints are, left to right, Calamine, Middleton Pink and Great White, all by Farrow & Ball, and Pink Slip, by Little Greene. I was going to settle for the palest, Middleton Pink, but…
This shot shows just how nicely the new pink goes with a grey floor. The floor here is Downpipe and the woodwork Smoked Trout. I’m thinking in my – north facing but very light – room the effect would be a bit…
I can’t wait to get my hands on a tester pot to find out what it really looks like. North facing rooms can be very tricky, as I found out in my epic 6 month grey paint stress for another north-facing room. I eventually settled on Strong White (I think), which in a chilly room looks closer to Cornforth White. You still following this?
My Friend came round for the other day with a pot of Pink Ground (above), which has further confused the issue. Also looks nice with grey I think?
My decision, when it comes, will be final. And I’ll let you know. If pink is not your thing this is the wrong blog for you then the rest of the F&B new colours are also terrific. The neutrals are great. So somber but livable too.
The new Purbeck Stone, similar to Cornforth White, is also a delight, especially with that burst of yellow.
Stylists love paint on a spoon….
Here they all are together. My laborious investigations continue…
Pink and grey are so lovely together. Just avoid anything that could possibly be imaginatively described as “blancmange nightmare”, is my advice.
