The Japanese have a word for that
I read somewhere a while ago that there is a specific word in Japanese for the feeling of depression, dread and shame one experiences after getting a bad haircut. What a culture!
I was just trawling through Tokyo blogger Hello Sandwich’s annual photos of blossom season, wishing once again I was there with my brother. I came across this:
Is that you? I know it’s me. Nice, as they say, to finally put a name to the condition.
While we’re on the subject, did you know that the Japanese term for a comb-over is ‘Barcode hair’? And here are some more useful words from around the world that don’t exist in English. I think I might be a Betsubara.
Lol me too!
