Stylish sofa or dirty beanbag?
In The Evening Standard today, the irrepressible Meg Mathews showed us round her beautiful home. I had a few thoughts. Don’t like that shade of pink, was one. Another was how those Toga sofas never look comfortable or aesthetically pleasing to me.
Doesn’t it just look like a big caterpillar? Or, after a bit, a big, dirty beanbag? And how do you get up from it without spilling your tea? But what do I know? If I was hanging out with aging Brit Poppers in Primrose Hill they might seem just the slouchy thing.
This image however, styled for The Guardian, is almost enough to make me reconsider. I like the colour, and I also love the rug and the cushion. The cushion is from a Cole & Son wallpaper, and it’s a mere £270 from The Rug Company.
While we’re talking wallpaper, do you want a look, as did, at la Mathew’s own range of wallpaper, featuring skulls and pineapples? If you’re going to take inspiration, take it from the best, if you know what I’m saying.
Nope. Hate them. (as well as most things from LR.)
