Stair-struck
Two things happened in the space of a week to instigate a new item for my decorating agenda. I saw Gemma sister-of-Abigail Ahern’s house in Grazia magazine – boy if I see another letter on a wall I’m going to scream, but love your colours Gemma and at least you didn’t spell out Love or Peace. Anyway, GA has a wallpaper strip hanging from bulldog clips down the wall opposite her stairs. Shortly after this I saw some Cole & Son Fornasetti Frutto Probito wallpaper in an artist’s house used next to some grey-blue paint that reminded me of my hallway (Farrow & Ball Skylight if you’re interested). End result: Can’t get monkeys out of my head every time I climb the stairs and am dying to properly paper the underside of a section – specifically the part I see when I walk out of my bedroom (shown below, yes I know those light shades have got to go). Here’s the potential combo if I’m brave enough. And below it Pansee and Peonie, also from Cole & Son’s Fornasetti collection, also messing with my head.
Mate! I need a monkey in my house pronto – preferably a hiding monkey. That’s such a great idea.
