Signs of the time
Well, Ros is on the island this week hopefully keeping well away from the newspapers. I don’t know about you, but I’m still depressed. I went to the march in London on saturday – although couldn’t make it until it had reached parliament square. It was full of people, absolutely full and there were some excellent signs present. Below are some of my favourites, some shot by me and some borrowed from Instagram – including particularly good ones from Larusi. The last one sums up the mood in my house and neighbourhood perfectly. There was also a lovely tribute to Jo Cox in the square which made me want to cry. The main takeaway from the event was that, if you want to protest, you need to lobby your local MP. I’d already written to mine but I think I’ll do it again. And again! Back in a bit with something less downbeat, but for now enjoy the spectacle of the signs…
Yeah still very disappointed about all of this. People confusing immigration with freedom of movement, the fact we don’t have many politicians who are seemingly of any use, and less of them who have any integrity. I have to hold on to the fact that actually life hasn’t stopped, nothing dreadful has actually happened. We will ‘right’ ourselves somehow and we will push through this and come out of the other side. What remains to be seen is how we are steered from here on in, we seem directionless and inert and all commanding officers who have steered us into these murky waters are nowhere to be found.
absolutely love these images – thank you for sharing.
like you, I still feel extremely bereft there’s no doubt about that.
however, I was in London at the weekend too and we have to remain strong and united and not let BREXSHIT divide us as a nation. we are stronger together and we must still continue to believe and fight for this.

The first two of them signs are absolutely brilliant!
I wonder how long the ad hoc anti-brexit-done-deal social movement will last now. When was the last time British people did go out on streets? I’m watching this closely, hoping for the anti-brexiters not to end ephemerally.
In one London eatery I visited I saw this postcard with “love for all and hatred for none” on it. Very simple, almost crude, but how I’d like now the UK to stay this way for the years to come.
The signs are spot on… And that is the only positive thing about this situation… I’m also a bit depressed:-(
