Rugs shout out
Today I’m blurring blog with business, business with pleasure, pleasure with…that’ll do. It’s a shout out about Katrien Vermeeren and her company Emily’s House London who we’ve been working with lately and whose vintage rugs from the Middle East and Africa, we genuinely love – Kilims, Beni Ouarains, Boucherouites, Caputs and Tulus among them. I mentioned the rugs almost exactly this time last year when I went to the Wrong for HAY launch at that gorgeous townhouse in St James Park and happened upon Katrien’s then showroom in the basement of the building. Both brands have since moved together just along the road into another beautiful townhouse. Everytime we’ve been for a meeting there Ros and I start by admiring the front door – the perfect navy blue – then end by ogling the same Beni Ouarain rug. We’re nothing if not predictable and repetitive. Here’s a peep at the kind of thing I’m yammering about…
You can see the huge collection in the flesh at the showroom if you’re attending LDF this year – find out about that here. Otherwise shoppers, get yourself over to the Etsy site or go for a follow on Pinterest.
Nice article about rugs.
