Rikka ka ka ka
Bit blown away by the work of Finish illustrator Rikka Sormunen. The ladies, the colours, the patterns – it’s all a bit Klimt.
Rikka, who is based in Berlin, dropped out of a fashion degree in Helsinki to concentrate on painting and illustration instead. These prints, taken from her new book Big Mother, are full of clothing inspired by her favourite designers, including Jonathan Saunders and Dries van Noten.
I’d totally buy those trousers if they weren’t, you know, a drawing.
Fashion photography, Japanese woodcuts and Mad Men are also references for the artist.
The book is published in a limited run of 2000 by No Brow and available to buy here.
