Puss Puss
“Ai Weiwei is a real cat lover; he has turned over his studio and home to the 30-ish cats who live with him, saying, ‘this is their place’.” So reads issue 1 of Puss Puss magazine, which on the basis of those words only I want to buy.
It was only a matter of time before Cat People had a competitor and I have to say if Ai Weiwei and his 30 cats is one of the cover stories, then it’s pretty stiff competition.
Issue 1 of Puss Puss is pure chic with its shoots of creatives-with-their-cats, stories about cat-relevant business such as Silken Favours – the brand makes cool cat cushions (and pineapples FYI) – and fashion shoots where the models are cuddling felines as beautiful as them. “You will find no naff cat outfits or cat food advice, instead, beautiful photography and illustration, intelligent writing, interviews and more by established as well as up-and-coming creatives from around the globe,” promises the Puss Puss website.
To be honest I could take a bit of the naff cat outfits, but otherwise, what’s not to like? Cat lovers only to answer that.
What would the doggy alternative be? Mutt Putt?
I think I’d want to call it Barking Mag
Very nice article and looking forward to reading more about puss puss!
