Progress is slow
…In my garden, but I’m still excited about it, still rooting (sorry) for it. I may have said I was planning to have all the changes done by April and yes, I’d even let myself imagine sipping a Campari on the new patio come the good weather. As a reminder, here’s how it looked when we started clearing it. When it still had grass. And plants.
Bald as a coot. Apart from that lovely Clematis, which is almost over already. Sure the shed – built by my amazing Dad, 72 and fitter than anyone I know – is still bright orange. And yes, we’ve realised we have to shell out for a new fence owing to the level of the garden next door. But the raised beds are up, most of the decking is down (slim cedar battens, which smell incredible) and plant number 1 (madeira) – currently holed up in the front garden – has been bought and lugged home from Columbia road flower market.
Now it’s just a case of finding a shed colour (bright or subtle?) and contemplating laying our turf. June, June is Campari time.
it’ll be gorgeous and the campari all the sweeter for it. love the decking is that type of wood expensive?
It was more than your off-the-peg decking kits from B&Q, but not as expensive as the hardwoods you get – the more specialist ones. Cedar battens are usually used for fences and the like I think, but it was the easiest / most inexpensive way to get the skinnier look.
looking good!!
exciting stuff. x
