Yup, I have three lonely plates hanging on the wall by my stairs. So this spectacle shames and delights me in equal measures. It’s the staircase over at wallpaper designer Tracy Kendall’s house. She found the paper plates (Indian, she thinks) for £4 each in a Designers Guild sale, ‘last century,’ she says. Amazing, aren’t they?

Much like Tracy’s design work. Here’s a reminder of one of her Text wallpapers and her Stack collection – the plates, books and magazines. ‘The plates were mine, my sisters, a friend of my sons, almost anyone who would lend me a plate really, so they all had or have a good home,’ she says. I could give that wallpaper a good home. She has many more designs, go see.
