Love it or hate it: wave wallpaper
My current job is great, but lacking in one particular aspect. Now I don’t work for a big interiors magazine I don’t get to spend nearly as much time gazing at new wallpaper prints as I’d like (for evidence of my wallpaper addiction see here). So I missed the new-ish Cole & Son Great Wave print.
I kind of like it, although it’s not the best picture. But I was nattering about it to my friend from Social Nesting and he recoiled, as if the wave itself were roaring towards him. He’d had enough of the Hokusai picture on which it is based in a previous century.
Today I happened upon this similar wallpaper on house-bothering blog An Afternoon With…, and a love it vs hate it debate going on in the comments. I think it looks pretty cool – what about you?
For those of you who find this more Swept Away than wet socks, check out my all time favourite wave wallpaper, and a few other honorable mentions, here.

Foreign glass
Behold the new things that have come my way. First – and I know I’m so late to the party with this – pill bottles. My godmother – Big D – is having her bathroom redone, and so these little bottles she’s collected over the years are on their way out… and over to my […]
Guest post: vintage flair
Once again please welcome Ashlee, from Malmo, as she casts an ex-pat’s eye over London shopping: “I get mighty miffed at style mavens who, when asked about the oh so cool design classics that grace their home, smugly quip “Oh, I picked them up at a flea market, they were really cheap,” particularly when the […]
House swap
Well not really, just the return leg of the wallpapering agreement between my friend and I. It was all good and we even wallpapered behind a radiator. For pictures, get over to her terrific new blog, Decorator’s Notebook. Also scroll down for a post on artists in their studios, and a super-cute Croatian holiday house. […]
