In the market
This Saturday I went to the exciting Lewisham event in Lewisham – my ‘hoods’ very first Farmer’s Market. Get us and our ascent to chi-chi-ville. Next it’ll be a dedicated cupcake shop opening (and closing again).
Ah, Farmer’s Markets. Where else can you smell 20 types of herbed olives and a nappy being changed at the same time? Although it’s styling itself as ‘Brockley Farmer’s Market’ it’s actually in the car park of Lewisham College. It was sweet to see it really busy, full of the usual sorts, plus loads of young men wielding serious looking cameras.
Weird thing about a market though, is because it’s basically for buying things, if you don’t buy something, it’s almost like you’ve not been. So I treated myself to yet another bunch of flowers for The Shelf. And they only cost a week’s wages!

An Oxford education undoubtedly gives you an enviable academic training, an influential field of peers and a leg up into the most desirable professions. But of all the things Oxford graduates might remember most fondly about the old Alma mater, I just can’t imagine ‘the furniture’ even registers. By Halo, the new Oxford Collection celebrates […]
Laundry rules
Whatever the opposite of OCD is, I’m probably that. But I do have some rules, particularly around two of my favourite things: linen and laundry. Yes, hearing the washing machine wurgling away in the background gives me a huge sense of wellbeing. So anyway, at work the other day we were discussing various house-related rules […]
