Have just been put onto American furniture company BDDW by an architect friend and was struck with how different, untrendy and totally beautiful their stuff is. Check out the walnut Slab table – basically a hunk of tree on legs with fantastic detailing over the splinters. Plasters for furniture? You heard it here first (probably).

But enough with the nutty trend-talk. This furniture is much to lovely for that.

I mean, I never thought I’d hanker for a leather mirror. And yet….

And they deserve a special mention for the wonderful yet slightly strange styling. Love that rug, want a white rabbit, might get an antique music stand.

PS If anyone knows any UK designer-makers doing anything similar to that table, then please let me know – I’m on the hunt!
