Now we are two…
…I thought it was time to contemplate the things I have learnt from blogging at My Friends House. Here’s nine things I know:
1.Finding the right grey paint is the universal decorating dilemma. Still.
2. A mention in a broadsheet means a joyful hike in stats.
3. What goes up, must come down.
4. If you suspect you are being tempted by a passing fancy, blog about it and your home won’t suffer.* Blogging is cathartic!
*To be honest I still want tartan cushions.
5. If you are going to express a dislike to something, expect feedback from the designer of said thing, and then to feel bad about it.
6. If you want to get the job done, blog about it – the need to follow up with a Real Reveal is weirdly powerful.
7. It pays to be an anonymous blogger when a German photographer email-harasses you with threats because you used photos you thought you were widely available (AKA everyfrickinwhere) and okay to use.
8. If you blog with a friend, every ‘blog meeting’ will actually be an aimless catch up about anything but, over coffee/wine/cake/brunch.
9. If you blog with an excellent friend, she will go solo for three-and-a-bit-months while you have maternity leave, and she won’t complain about it.
Thank you My Friend and Happy Birthday!

after years of searching my favourite grey is cornforth white F&B….
How about a plain wallpaper to solve your grey dilemma. Designers Guild have a wide range of colours including several grey shades. I like them as they’re often braver with colour. http://www.designersguild.com/fabric-and-wallpaper-showroom/all-collections/tsuga-wallcovering/ernani/.
I agree blogging and blogging deadlines really focus the effort, however, I also run a small business with a friend and the last thing we ‘catch up’ on in our catch-up sessions is the business. Even the dog comes before that!
I love it, this is still the most chattered-about topic of all. My Friend eventually solved the problem of the greys – http://myfriendshouse.wordpress.com/2010/12/20/perfect-grey-revealed/
– but thanks for those suggestions they will definitely be filed in the ‘good greys’ file for future walls / homes / dilemmas.
Wow, congratulations my friends…. can’t believe it’s been two years!

Happy Birthday My Friend! Did I really not complain about it? No, it’s been lovely, and I’m very proud of us both – I think we’ve racked up about 400 posts. x
Happy birthday! I do hope there was cake and a whole series of tantrums to celebrate the turning of 2. x
