New obsession
Pole lamps. How can they be so right when they sound so wrong? I didn’t even know they existed until two days ago.
An American design from the 40’s, the original is by Ted Stiffel of the Stiffel Lamp Company in Chicago. Let’s not dwell on where Ted may have been ‘hanging’ in his down time to get inspired.
Instead, for a nicer (unborrow-able) picture of a pole lamp in a swanky house, check out this designer’s website (top row far right).
And yes, I’m aware of dissing a pole in Jade Jagger’s bathroom mere minutes ago, but add three lamp heads and it changes the whole thing. We’re pretty exact about our likes and dislikes here.
