Lace concrete
Morton Young and Borland is a textiles company specialising in Scottish Madras and Lace. Founded in Ayershire in 1900, by the three gents below, it’s now the only producer in the world manufacturing with original Nottingham Lace Looms.
Some of its work was used in Django Unchaned and Lincoln, among other films and tv productions. But, it’s their textile concrete surfaces that switched me onto them. Created in collaboration with Belfast company Tactility Factory at the end of last year, the tiles are now ready and MYB Textiles is, ‘looking for projects to work on using this technique.’
I imagine the interior designers will come knocking soon enough. The tiles are based along the same lines as these ones that I posted about a few years ago (and still love).
Visit the MBY Textiles website for many uses of lace – interiors and fashion – and also, if you love a close up shot of machinery. I’ll leave you with the company’s cool promotional video.
What a great video.
I LOVE a close up shot of machinery. Thank you.
