Joy unconfined – I have a new sofa
OK so a very quick recap – my beautiful sofa is a design classic, bought from eBay and much treasured. However it invented the phrase ‘numb bum’. For a look at the sofa itself, and even more painful posterior information, check out my original post here. But today I’m delighted to share with you that I have a new sofa, and life looks altogether more laid back and loungey.
The new sofa came from my friend Poppy, who was getting rid of it, for which me and the whole household will be eternally grateful. It was, I believe, from Designers Guild, and its a quality bit of reclinerage. Poppy said it was ‘the pale blue of Rosemary flowers’, a poetic description that is also entirely accurate. It has low, deep seats and loads of space. Me, the fella and even the cat are instantly happier, more comfortable and less prone to make that awful old man groaning noise when we get up from sitting on it. For fans of the Mid-Century sitting-on-a-spike style, fear not, the original sofa will be going to Margate, not the tip. Thanks Poppy, you’ve made my osteopath very happy x
