Then there’s Giles Miller’s NakedLego table, which is made out of carved toy building blocks and is more, erm, practical? If you like your tables to hold just one drink anyway.

I’m so loving the whole idea, and especially the montage of plastic animals in a glass case. Much more fun than a stuffed owl. If only I’d had more imagination than to lose the raw material to a car-boot sale.
