Get the look: Twin Peaks

I don’t know about you, but around a certain time in the evening I like to talk backwards and do a little dance. Here’s how to create that timeless Black Lodge look on a budget.

Black Lodge twin peaks

Black zig zag rug

Zig Zag rug, £65, Urban Outfitters.*

Red Ikea curtains Wilma curtains, £10.99, Ikea.

Beau armchair Beau armchair, £429, DFS.

*Please note: The zig-zag rug was the best match we could find. However, we at MFH would like to stress that before shopping at Urban Outfitters you might like to check this, about their founder’s record of funding an anti-gay rights senator. For a similar rug that doesn’t undermine one’s commitment to gay rights try Ikea’s Rand rug, £99.99.

Blimey, Mr Urban Outfitters is a real arse! I won’t be shopping there again, not that I could ever really afford it anyway.

unfortunatley the founder of Ikea was in his youth a part of a pro-Nazi movement in Sweden 🙁 I am Swedish, and it disturbes me a lot BUT since I don’t think his mistake in his youth has had any impact on Ikea I still shop there…but It’s very disturbing.

This is a quote from Wikipedia in an article on Ikea:

“IKEA founder Ingvar Kamprad was, as a teen, directly involved in the pro-Nazi New Swedish Movement (Nysvenska Rörelsen) until at least 1948, causing tensions when IKEA began opening stores in Israel.[65] Kamprad devotes two chapters to his time in Nysvenska Rörelsen in his book, Leading By Design: The IKEA Story and, in a 1994 letter to IKEA employees, called his affiliation with the organization the “greatest mistake of my life.”[66] After the revelations came to light, he pledged £1 billion to charity.[67]”

      Thanks Jamie
I’d sort of heard that, in conversation, and taken roughly the same view as you. I’m sure that scratching the surface of a lot of big companies one will often find something unsavoury, and judgements about who to shop with, or not, can be complicated to make
