Friends with opinions
Both My Friend and I were out for dinner with some ex interiors mag colleagues this week, and some pressing questions were put to the table by at least half the party present. For example:
Should I get a fringe cut?
How many animal-themed products is too many for your average domestic room?
Does anyone else think their love of cheese may be getting out of hand?
What colour should I paint my shed?
Obviously the last was mine (I make a scintillating dinner date dontcha think?) and here’s the answer that has stuck with me the longest…
Black. Not the answer I was expecting to like best, but as soon as Derek Jarman’s famous Dunganess garden (and house obviously) was suggested as evidence to back it up, I was sold. Work begins this weekend, so expect a real reveal soonish. And thanks for the top tip my friend, you know who you are.
Just one question – are you going to pick out the windows in yellow? I’m sure all readers of this blog await the photos with mounting excitment.
Ha! Yes I’m sure they do. No I’m not, but my friend I think had plans to do that with her own, probably much snazzier, soon-to-be-sourced shed.
Yay! So glad the black shed made the cut!
And looking forward to seeing both your new fringes very soon 🙂

You and I have some themes going on! http://www.flickr.com/photos/trudiescrumptious/5788193020/ and I too have a bench-painting-garden-changing project!
Oh Wow Trudie, thanks for the tip – that photo is wonderful. It’s not my shed, it’s My Friend’s, and this is exactly the effect she was after. I might suggest she adds a spire x
