Folky feel at Habitat
My parents are downsizing, and have 30-odd years worth of stuff to edit before they move. On a recent visit I spent a lot of time with my head stuck in the never-used china cupboard, and found these.
Norway’s Figgjo Flint studio’s Lotte design must have been hip for newly weds in the 70s. I remember drawing people surrounded by the pattern’s curly tendrils and rough flowers as a kid, then as a teenager thought they were twee and horrible, before coming full circle to covet them once more. So imagine my pleasure to see ceramics and textiles with the same 70s Skandi feel at the Habitat Autunm/Winter press show. Loving this table runner and tea towel.
Despite being shown in almost total darkness, the new season Habitat products were really impressive – much warmer and more inclusive than the Habitat of a few years ago. Here are another couple of my highlights.
