Earthy ware

News flash: this hand-made ceramics collection is brand new to Couverture. You know, Emily Dyson’s lovely chi chi shop in Notting Hill that used to be on the Kings Road.

The designer Dawn Vachon is from Melbourne – G’day! – and she’s created a stoneware range of cups-and-saucers, bowls and jugs, in a lovely blue-grey / pink / cream colour combination, deliberately leaving imperfections in the finishes so they look all earthy-crafty, artsy-fartsy.

I love that her shots are sort of amateur looking, almost like the kind of thing I* might have done here if I was that little bit more skilled.

You can only buy the pieces in store at Couverture. Meantime, check out more of Dawn’s work on her  blog.

*I want to say we but My Friend is currently on holiday and unable to defend her photography skills.

Oh good grief, I just looked at her blog and my life is WORTHLESS until I own that Scallop range. In the meantime, Ikea’s Finest Basic Range will get thrown against a wall piece by piece, on a daily basis, just out of spite.

well make sure you take photos of that for our support group, even if it doesn’t make you sad.
