Diary of a wallpapering
My friend and I had an agreement. I’d help her do her living room if she’d help with my hallway. Today was the first leg.
Since I painted my hallway white it was looking kind of boring. So I did a test…
…with the amazing Cole & Son Palm Leaves wallpaper. I loved the crazy Cole clash when one is on the threshold of hall and kitchen. So…
…we cut and labeled the drops. Then we made our first batch of paste, later abandoned.
It was done. However, what sort of project would it be if, on completion, it’d hadn’t thrown up as many questions as it had answered? See, we’d papered round three large screws, as I planned to put back my huge mirror over the top. But the big mirror didn’t look right. And now I’m stuck with these three screws. This was my second solution…
Still not right. But, as Michael Caine says at the end of The Italian Job, ‘”I’ve got a plan…”
oooh nice! I’m loving the Cole clash. x
Good luck with the wallpaper projetc, I do want to put some on my hallway but can not decide on which one so many gorgeous ones…
Thanks Margarita. I find it hard to decide too – at the last minute (literally) I found a metallic nettle-leaf Florence Broadhurst paper I’d forgotten I had, and was sorely tempted to switch. But now it’s up, this one seems just right.
Love it!!!
This is SO SO lovely, my friend xx
