Cushions and spoons
Can there be anything more satisfying than a good cushion and a good spoon? Don’t answer that, I just wanted to tell you about designer Kirsten Hecktermann. Her background includes sewing things for stylists to shoot on the World Of Interiors and her own work is – I’m just going to go right ahead and say it – exquisite. Hand dyed velvet cushions with colour names such as Moroccan Sand and Maud’s Ribbon:
Kirsten’s hardwood spoons are hand carved by local crafters in East Africa. The bone spoons are made in Kenya with a percentage of profits going to the local turtle-watch trust. Right on.
I want to take an arm to my kitchen worktops, swipe everything off and arrange vast amounts of spoons there instead.
Kirsten also has a new blog detailing private sales and pop-up shops.
