Today the Costa Concordia, the cruise ship that was grounded and sank off the coast of Italy, is subject to an attempt to raise it. These images of the ship were taken by photographer Gigi Cifali, and in the light of the 32 lives lost on the ship, are haunting. They are disorientating and show the ship’s places of entertainment literally turned on their heads and emptied of people.
