Bountiful Japan

My brother is back from Tokyo for a month-long visit. He stayed with me a few days before clearing off with my car to do a grand tour of family and friends. I had asked him to bring me back a certain item of Japanese make-up, which he kindly did, but he also came bearing other gifts.

Japanese biscuits

Mmmmm. Two boxes of beautifully packaged biscuits. Not from the Bro’, but instead from his friend who I met in Tokyo. The friend sent the same gift for my parents. Which sums up the generous welcome and thoughtfulness that my brother has enjoyed there. Then the best surprise…

Vintage weekend case

This vintage beauty that the Bro’ found in a flea market in Ueno Park. Next time I visit him I’m making a beeline to this weekly event! Isn’t it delightful? My favourite colour, it has its own key, and is the perfect size for carrying the essentials of a blogger’s night away (laptop, toothbrush, pants, 70s paperback). Thanks Brother mine!

Woah. He did well. That case is *lovely*. So, when are we setting him up to do import of hand-selected beautiful finds to far away lands for a reasonable fee?

Quite – who knew he had such a refined aesthetic sensibility?
