Bit of Burleigh

A quick bit of ‘oooh look what I got’ today. We had Christmas with my family this year where the (very festive) theme was austerity – we all wanted to do Secret Santa so we had to buy just one gift for one allocated person. Turns out Mr MFH was the only one who didn’t let on who he was buying for, but that’s by the by. I bought my brother a snood from Cos, which I was pretty pleased with – there was a budget – until I unwrapped my own lovely gift…

It’s a 1930’s Art Deco ‘Trees’ bowl from Burleigh ware ceramics, from the Burgess & Leigh pottery in Staffordshire. The main bowl is a lovely lilac shade, which looks particularly excellent against the yellow tree tempting me to harp on about my imaginary hot trend again. It’s also the kind of thing I might never have picked, but absolutely love, making it the perfect gift. Thanks again Mu..Secret Santa.

I know, thank you – I was deeply impressed. Funnily enough I got what you might describe as novelty socks with it.
