Bathroom mood board
I’ve been working on a bathroom project and typically had a lot of fun mood boarding my ideas. The inspiration (from top) is the location – in a painting, plus photographs – and a shoot from Elle Decoration that encapsulated the same palette of colours.
My scanner has given everything a brown tinge, so here’s the whole lot again on my wall in a truer light. The Alvaro Siza church top right kick-started the tiling design – 60 x 60cm floor tiles that continue up the wall for one band before 10 x 10cm wall tiles take over.
The final mood board illustrates the material palette of concrete-look porcelain floor tiles, polished grey / blue porcelain wall tiles, plus paint, curtain fabric, lighting and chair suggestions. I wish I had space for a lounge chair in my own bathroom. Sigh.
Wow, that’s an interesting mood board you’ve assembled. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished project. 🙂
Love, love, love it. Especially the soothing grey wall tile against that liquid pool of green.
I am convinced that if all paint came in fairy cake [note the refusal to use the term ‘cupcake’] cases, then painting would not seem like such a chore..
Thanks for the encouraging comments…Susan, you may remember a soap dish of yours I was admiring? It proved to be an inspiration when I was scurrying around looking for appropriate paint vessels.
Aaaah you mean the one your brother has just broken? I think I have another tucked away somewhere that shall be yours in return for a fairy cake case filled with fairy cake!
