Bathroom ideas part 1
So after sharing my bathroom shame earlier in the week, I’ve been looking around for inspiration for what to do with it. As previously mentioned I haven’t much to spend – I don’t plan on moving anything around for example. I have a load of white brick tiles that Jill gave me, sitting under a cabinet in the living room for a year now, so they’ll be going on the walls. I’m not going to wallpaper, though I’m sorely tempted. But I am still contemplating a little bit of pattern.
See, doesn’t that subtle pattern on the floor look nice? They’re probably something dead fancy. The bathroom is the only room in my flat with a concrete floor, and in the interests of economy a vinyl floor is probably what I’m going to end up with. So finding these vinyl floor tiles, designed by Neisha Crosland for Harvey Maria, has got me tempted.
What do you think? Too girly? The rest of the room will be white most probably, with just the pale pink chest of drawers and my lovely pink-edged Deco mirror, so a greeny-blue floor is just what I was thinking of.
I also like these – less girly, very chic. But I’d have to inject some colour into the room with something else. The picture was, I believe, styled by Jill, many moons ago. Nice foliage. Tiles from Mira Colour.
As I mentioned, I’m building a set of inspiring pictures and products on Pinterest. They include a pink bathroom – so tempting, but probably not fair on the gent – a dark grey bathroom (am I brave enough? Doubt it) and a bathroom with a fab zig-zag floor. If you got a moment have a look-sie and tell me what you think… I promise, you haven’t heard the last of this.

I adore your deco mirror!!! I’ve been looking for one that nice for years -but never found one that wasn’t crazily expensive! I love the tiles at the bottom most -been considering using them in my own place too. I think the ones in the bottom photo are made by Emery & Cie -you can buy them at Retrouvious – should you want to -although they are pricey- of course! Definitely don’t think you can go wrong with a nice clean white bathroom. Though i would be tempted to use a bit of wallpaper too! But i think a lovely pattern on the floor will do the trick and those are the nicest vinyl tile pattern i’ve seen in quite a while!
Yes I think the actual tiles will be too pricey, and the floor is pretty bumpy too so vinyl is best. Plus can’t afford underfloor heating so the tiles would be freezing! Thanks for the mirror love. I bought it in a very scruffy house clearance shop in Ladywell. She’s a beauty ain’t she?
I love the blue flooring, and I don’t think it’s too girly! Plus it’s a really versatile colour so you could easily change the look of your bathroom whenever you like without ripping up the entire floor! 🙂
Thanks InteriorThinking. Enjoyed your post about bathroom tiles – what a great bath too in the first picture. So easy to get tempted to go overboard when planning a revamp!
Hahaa yes definitely, far too easy to get carried away! Oh thank you so much, glad you liked it 🙂
Hi, I know! Why are all traditional/ old school tiles so bloody expensive?! I am having the same battle. I also wanted black and white but then found some v cheap ‘Victorian’ style floor tiles at ‘tons of tiles’ and so going to do the Walls in latte bricks and maybe some duck egg blue borders. Whaddya think?
I think dark grouting is the way forward as looks old school and also easier to keep looking good than White grouting.
Can’t wait to see your bathroom develop! X
Lovely 🙂 If I had my own home, these tiles would be at least in one of the rooms (the bathroom, the kitchen…). I love them!

You’re welcome Grace. Cute aren’t they. But I hadn’t thought of them for a kitchen. Hmmm… tempting x
I love the vinil floor tiles, you can get rid of them when you don’t want them anymore and it adds the vintage-kind style which is lovely! I would go for that one.
Wow! I never thought I would say I love vinyl tiles, but those may have won me over! I think great are fabulous!
Beautiful Tile designs!Love the chic bathroom!
