As old as me
My Friend I loved your post on your oldest bit of furniture the other day, and it set me thinking about mine. Turns out, like those poor people* Alan Clark sneered at for having to buy their own furniture, nothing of mine has been in my possession for more than a few years. So I scrambled around and found the two items I have owned my whole life.
Ahhh. I strongly suspect this book (and another of my first possessions that I still have, a little crocheted scarf) sparked my love of pink and yellow, a combination which seems to run throughout.
And in case you’re wondering, that isn’t a little pot of earwax in the top photo – it’s my Snufflebabe. Like a Vix for babies born in the late 70s. As to why I still have such a thing…? Just take a look at the font. I expect I will be buried with these things one day, like a boy pharaoh. It’s probably weird enough that I was able to lay my hands on them within about 30 seconds.
* Just Googled it. He was talking about Michael Heseltine.
